Direct Pediatrics Care?

We are a pediatric primary care practice focusing on providing personalized, comprehensive care through a direct relationship between the patient, parents,  and the pediatrician. In our practice, patients pay a monthly membership fee, which covers a wide range of services without the involvement or restrictions of insurance companies.

  • How does Direct Pediatrics Care differ from traditional insurance-based pediatric practices?
    Direct Pediatrics Care prioritizes longer appointments, personalized care, and better doctor-patient relationships. There are no hidden costs or confusing insurance policies with Direct Pediatrics Care. In contrast, traditional insurance-billing practices often have rushed appointments, limited time with the pediatrician, and unexpected out-of-pocket expenses or co-pays.
  • What services are included in a Direct Pediatrics Care membership?
    At Direct Pediatrics Care your membership includes all well-child visits and associated testing, sick visits, and any medically necissary lab work. Our specialized care for children, includes being seen by a pediatrician who has training specific to the care of children and their unique needs, developmental screenings, immunization schedules, and pediatric-specific management for chronic conditions such as asthma, allergies, ADHD, developmental/behavioral concerns, and mild-to-moderate chronic psychological conditions.

  • How much does a Direct Pediatrics Care membership cost?
    Membership fees at Direct Pediatrics Care vary depending on your child's age and the number of children you have. Newborn - 11 years old: $70/month 12 - 22 years old: $80/month Family maximum: $150/month
  • Does my child still need insurance if they are a patient at Direct Pediatrics Care?
    While Direct Pediatrics Care will cover all of your child's primary care services including lab work, we still recommended your child have insurance for costly medications, diagnostic imaging, emergencies, hospitalizations, and sub-specialist care.
  • Can my child get same-day appointments with their pediatrician?
    Yes, one of the most significant benefits of Direct Pediatrics Care is improved access to your child's pediatrician. Direct Pediatrics Care offers same-day or next-day appointments for acute issues, ensuring that your child receives prompt attention when needed. Additionally, as a parent of a Direct Pediatrics Care patient you have a direct line of communication with your child's pediatrician.
  • What if my child needs a referral to see a sub-specialist?
    If your child requires sub-specialist care, Dr. Eames can provide referrals and coordinate with the sub-specialist to ensure continuity of care. Dr. Eames intentionally pursued his training at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine to build relationships with many pediatric subspecialists who serve patients in Southwestern Virginia. While the Direct Pediatrics Care membership does not cover sub-specialist visits, your child's insurance should cover these services.
